Hearty Congratulations and a massive well done to Esme, Rodger, Lucas, Evan, Lucy, Ava, Alex, and Maisy on achieving the Life Saving Bronze Star Award.

This award is made up of three sections: lifesaving theory, lifesaving survival and rescue skills, and CPR, AED, and first aid. It's a pre-Bronze Medallion training programme that helps prepare candidates for the Bronze Medallion.

Life Saving Report 2023

Kingfishers Swimming Club has a lively and successful Life Saving section which operates every Friday from 7.45pm - 8.45pm. It is run by a very committed and loyal set of volunteers, many of whom are previous members of the club, but who now coach our younger swimmers. An excellent example of how our swimmers, whether squad or life savers, want to give something back - and we are so grateful for their contribution.

Our younger life savers work towards the Rookie Life Guard qualifications which have three levels: Bronze Silver and Gold, each with three increasingly challenging sections. After completion of the Rookie Gold Level 3, swimmers progress onto the National LifeSaving Academy Awards Scheme. We currently have nine swimmers (ranging in age from 11 - 14 years) involved at this level, and we are enormously proud that in July this year, they achieved the Bronze Certificate - the foundation award at this level. This qualification has only been available for a year, so our swimmers are amongst the first to achieve it nationally. So… well done to: (in alphabetical order)
