20 minute challenge #3
Post date: 02-Feb-2018 22:00:20
The Sharks were put through their paces for the third time tonight with the target of improving from their previous swim.
Our target for the first session was for everyone to swim at least 20 lengths in 20 minutes and for the second second we were aiming for at least 25 lengths in 20 minutes.
We awarded a trophy to the most improved swimmer in each session, (calculated from percentage improvement from the first or second swim - whichever was the furthest).
What we offer as a sports club is an opportunity for the swimmers to push themselves and get a sense of achievement - this is something that not all schools offer in their sports lessons and as we know life is competitive so giving our kids an opportunity to show their grit will stand them in good stead.
The winners were:
Ava M in session 1 and Thomas in session 2; well done to you both. We will take a break from this activity for a couple of months and set the swimmers new challenges in the coming months - watch this space. Once again this was an excellent effort all round.
The club also took the opportunity to present each of the swimmers with a club cap because they have worked hard in training and feeling part of the club for these swimmers is as important to them as it is to us.
